In the investigative series on India’s monetary policy, I found evidence of India's finance ministry’s attempts at making inroads into the RBI and nibble away its independence in setting the country’s monetary policy, which primarily aims to keep prices stable. The three-part investigation, published by Al-Jazeera, is based on thousands of documents I obtained using the freedom of information law.

My source-driven investigation exposed how an ‘independent’ report by two economists, showing robust job creation in India a year before the national elections, was secretly commissioned by the government. By doing so, the Modi administration gave unauthorised access to private data of citizens.
